Who Is Generation N?

The world is watching as the first of the Internet generation grows up in Asia

They've been called Asia's "Net Generation." But most often, this group born after 1975 is called "Generation N." They're the first generation to fully embrace the Internet. Because of this, Gen N's are thoroughly comfortable with technology.

They've been described as self-confident and spoiled. Generation N's process information very quickly. But they're also known to be quite impatient. The Internet has opened up a world of  diverse viewpoints. As a result, most Gen N's are most open to new ideas than previous generations.

Attitudes toward life

Generation N is also challenging society's traditional ideas about love, marriage and children. Researchers state that Gen N's are most individualistic. They want their own personal space and freedom. This is resulting in many people choosing to marry later, or not at all. One marketing and research company discovered the following attitude among Gen N's: There's no need to marry if you can lead a happy and independent life alone.

For those who do marry, they're waiting until they're older. They're also choosing to have children later.

他们被称为亚洲的「网路世代」。但这些一九七五年之后出生的一群，更常被称作是「N世代」。他们是第一个彻底、并欣然接受网际网路的世代。正由于此，N世代的人对科技感到全然地自在适意。

他们被形容是充满自信且被宠坏的一群。N世代能极为迅速地处理资讯，但他们的缺乏耐心也是众知皆知的。网际网路已经开展了一整个世界的多样视角，因此大部分的N世代人比之前的一代更容易接受新观念。

生活态度

N世代也在挑战社会对爱情、婚姻和生养孩子的传统观念。研究员指出N世代的人较为个人主义，他们想要自己的私人空间和自由。这导致许多人晚婚，甚至是不婚。一家市场研究公司发现N世代的人有以下这种态度：如果你一个人可以过快乐独立的生活，就不需要婚姻。

至于那些选择结婚的人，则是等到年纪较长才步入礼堂。他们也选择较晚才生儿育女。
